Rangiwaea School is located amongst hilly farmland, surrounded by a native reserve. The Turakina River runs through the school farm.

Located in the central North Island, many large attractions are only within a short driving distance away. Turoa Ski Field on Mt Ruapehu is 45 mins away.

There is excellent fishing in lakes and rivers around the area. Many outdoor pursuits on Mt Ruapehu, Lake Taupo and the Tongariro National Park will suit any outdoor enthusiast visiting the area.

The Waiouru Army Training Base provides many facilities for our school to use such as the large indoor swimming pool and gymnasium. The Army Museum in Waiouru is also well worth the visit.
